Check out an interview done with a Penn State Newspaper!
and reluctantly decided not to at the last moment. one reason - if you're like me
(being a bit star struck and all) - you idealize your heros. if you
meet them and they don't measure up to your unattainable standards - you
may find yourself ridding the aforementioned hero from your collection.
that being said - i had the opportunity to meet one of my idols
recently. even though i was nervous due to my idiosyncrasies....i
hyperventilated for 15 minutes while gathering my nerves and made my way
over to my champion of guitar/vox. he was, indeed, awesome- as i
mentioned that i owed him commissions on many funny funny jokes that
i've borrowed from him. i then asked to get a photo.... as i
sallied up next to him - i (inadvertently, of course) spilled his drink
that he had placed right behind him on the bar. not only did it spill down his backside - to add insult to my injury - the bar had already called last call so i was unable to
replace the drink. curses!!! the one time that i throw caution to the wind- i do that! regardless, he was super nice as he muttered -
"you owe me a drink, jackass". moral to the story - there isn't one.
spring is in the air and we all know what that means....
as we continue down the writing/recording road – things are looking as bright as can be (on par with a 40 watt bulb).
things really are starting to shape up. it’s been taking a little longer than we anticipated – but maybe the old adage rings true (good things come to those who go fuck themselves). all in all – we’ll go on record of saying – the new CD will be the best yet.
on a completely different note - sometimes things are realized in one’s life that put an entirely new perspective on things.....frankly, i don’t think i’ve had one of these epiphanies.....but i did find out that our beloved eddie went to school with gwen stefani. now, before you chatter amongst yourselves in disbelief – he does actually have the yearbook photos to authenticate his story! ask eddie about his super-awesome mustachio.
we’re continuing to see more new clubs on our schedule. so, dust off granny and get your buns to a show.
we’ll be updating you all with blogs regarding the new cd – singles / release date / etc....
we’re also looking to have some new merch in the immediate future.
as always – thanks for your support!
surely i half jest. say hello to crazy eddie (his playing is insane!!!) – old people will get that.
we’ve met and played with some remarkable folks over the past few months. i’d like to give a hoot to til december / backstreet law for all they’ve done for us over the years. (back to the days when our beloved eddie was pounding skins for those guys)
funny how things work out.
best wishes to all the guys in til dec....as they’ve decided to take a break. i’d also wish that upon their crew – but we’ve conveniently borrowed them – so we tell them that at every show!
it was a real gas meeting and hanging with the naked beggars crew back in sept. having a guy from cinderella up front at one of our shows was pretty effin cool.
just last week we had the opportunity to play with drowning pool and adema in williamsport pa. again, a very cool thing. they both ripped ass live. the singer (bobby) – from adema needs to work on his jager skills. yeah right!! he was a very cool guy. as were the rest of the guys and crew. (adema’s guitar player is really tall!)
i get a lot of slack from folks for being starstruck – and i’ll be sure to put that on my list of things to care about (sarcasm in the hizzle).
on with the show....we’ve got nearly 35 songs written for the new CD. now we’re gonna start whacking the weak and building the strong. updates soon as we continue to work on it.
we’ve got a lot of new clubs that we’ll be visiting in 2008 – see ya out there.
hi kids. i’m afraid i need to offer some very bad news. our beloved dickie finally attempted the feat of defying gravity and lost. last week, dickie lost his footing on a wet lobby floor and broke a bone in his right arm. this happened very late thursday night after a show we played in ohio. he spent the rest of the night in the emergency room (by way of a wheelchair and a ferry – as we were on an island....he couldn’t be airlifted as there was a horrific storm.....hence the aforementioned wet floor in the lobby!) being the trooper that he is, dickie was adamant about playing the show friday night. willing to adjust his drum kit and firmly tape his badgered wing to his body – he felt that he could give it a go. however, it was finally decided that it was too risky – fearing that more damage could be imposed upon his arm. i’d like to thank john mase (slaw / waffa) for sitting in for dickie saturday night upon our return to the joker’s wild in ogdensburg. please offer dickie some lovin, sugar, and hopes of a speedy recovery over at his myspace page: http://myspace.com/drumdr
we’re working with dickie’s substitute and will advise to our plans as soon as we are able. thanks for all of your support!
